NGC 891, also called the Silvershard Galaxy, is a spiral galaxy with extensive Hubble-type Sb star-forming regions in the northern constellation of Andromeda. The galaxy is around 30 million light years from the Milky Way and belongs to the NGC 1023 group. At 150,000 light-years across, NGC 891 is the dominant galaxy in this group and one of the largest known spiral galaxies. The object interacts with the dwarf galaxy UGC 1807, which is about 250,000 ly away.
